Traditional livestock farming is resource-intensive and contributes to environmental issues, while many diets lack essential nutrients. Solution – Entomophagy, eating insects provides a sustainable, high-protein, and nutrient-rich alternative to traditional meat. We present to you, Bugs Delight, an innovative ice cream and frozen yogurt brand that makes entomophagy fun and approachable, offering adventurous eaters a unique and delicious experience.
Bugs Delight needed to introduce insect-based snacks in a way that felt approachable and credible. Since entomophagy (eating insects) still carries stigma, the challenge was to design packaging and branding that reduced squeamishness, built trust, and communicated both novelty and sustainability.
I created a friendly and clean visual identity that emphasizes natural, high-quality ingredients rather than shock value. The packaging uses simplified insect motifs (rather than hyper-realistic bugs), a muted but confident color palette, and clear nutritional messaging to highlight the snack’s environmental benefits and healthy profile.
The guiding concept is “Sustainable Curiosity.” The design system frames insects not as something weird or scary, but as a smart, eco-conscious source of protein. By balancing subtle insect visuals with a grounded, honest look, Bugs Delight positions itself as a modern, responsible snack, one that invites exploration and aligns with conscious consuming.
